SKID ROW's RACHEL BOLAN On KISS's 'End Of The Road': 'I Have The Feeling It's Not Gonna Be Their Farewell Tour'

SKID ROW bassist Rachel Bolan is not convinced KISS's "End Of The Road" tour will actually mark retirement for the 1970s theatrical rock behemoths.

The New Jersey rockers go back a long way with KISS, with a dispute over whether to tour with the New York icons said to have played a part in the departure of classic-era SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach in 1996.

KISS claims each show on the current tour is the band's final visit to that city. Their web site shows dates up until December 3 in Auckland.

"Man, I have the feeling it's not gonna be their farewell tour," Bolantold the "White Line Fever" podcast.

"If you remember, in 2000, we played [KISS's first] farewell tour. We opened up for them on the farewell tour, and we were out with them for about nine months. So I have a feeling, as long as they can keep doing it…

"Maybe it'll take a break, maybe it'll be a decent hiatus, but I have a feeling we're not gonna see the last of KISS."

Asked if he would like SKID ROW to open for KISS at some stage on the current tour, Bolan said: "We would love to be on that. How many times can you say you've been on the same band's farewell tour — twice!?"

Offering his feelings upon learning that the band was planning to stop touring, Bolan said: "Being such a huge KISS fan, it's sad in a way, but they've been doing it a long time."

SKID ROW recently enter a Nashville, Tennessee recording studio with producer Michael Wagener — who also helmed the group's 1989 self-titled debut and 1991's "Slave To The Grind" — to begin tracking the final chapter of the band's "United World Rebellion" trilogy.

The album will mark SKID ROW's first release with South African-born, British-based vocalist ZP Theart (DRAGONFORCE, TANK, I AM I),who joined the band in 2016 following the departure of Tony Harnell (TNT, STARBREAKER).

The effort will feature collaborations with several outside songwriters, including Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR) and Lzzy Hale and Joe Hottinger of HALESTORM, a group that covered the title track of "Slave To The Grind" on its "ReAniMate: The CoVeRs eP" in 2011. SKID ROW also worked with songwriter-for-hire Marti Frederiksen, who has previously collaborated with AEROSMITH, DEF LEPPARD, Jonny Lang and Sheryl Crow.

Unlike 2014's "Rise Of The Damnation Army - United World Rebellion: Chapter Two" and 2013's "United World Rebellion: Chapter One", SKID ROW's forthcoming release will be a full-length record.
